Opportunity Accounts

Everything in life starts with an opportunity, including the second chance to build a strong financial record. Get your finances in order and rebuild your financial record with an Opportunity Savings and Checking account. All Opportunity Checking accounts will be reviewed every month to evaluate the last six months of history. Opportunity Checking accounts will be automatically upgraded to Cashback Checking if the following requirements are met:

• Six direct deposits (at least one per month)
• Six or less overdrafts
• No returned checks
• 36 or more non-ATM debit card transactions

Your Opportunity Savings account will also be upgraded to Membership Savings when you’re upgraded to Cashback Checking. If you’d like to opt out of this automatic upgrade process, please give us a call at 800-232-3642.

Your Opportunity to Learn

It takes $5 to open an Opportunity Savings account.  Once you’ve opened your Opportunity Savings account, then you can open an Opportunity Checking account. As long as you have at least one direct deposit into your Opportunity Checking account every month, the monthly fee will only be $5. Without a direct deposit, the monthly fee will be $8.*

There’s a $2 monthly service charge for printed statements per Opportunity Savings account.* The printed statement service charge is waived for accounts for which the primary Member, or tax-reported owner, is age 65 or older and for special titled accounts. Special titled accounts include trusts, estates, For-Benefit-Of, guardianships, UTMA, and IDA.

Eligible Members can also request overdraft protection. That way, you’ll have the peace of mind knowing you won’t have a bounced check or a declined transaction. Opportunity Checking accounts are eligible for three types of overdraft coverage (Courtesy Pay is not available for this account).
