It’s fall, y’all!
You can argue Indiana summers are the best, but we think that fall in Indiana isn’t too shabby, either. From the colorful leaves to local pumpkin patches across the state, with temperatures beginning to drop (slowly), now is a great time to start planning some fun fall activities before winter comes!
Exploring state parks
You can enjoy waterfalls, hiking, picnicking, and more throughout Indiana’s 20+ State Parks. Bring your dog, kids, and a comfortable pair of shoes for a day in the great outdoors. Ask for a map at the entrance, or you can reduce waste by downloading or taking a screenshot of the map before you go.
Watching movies outside
Indiana has a few drive-in theaters, and some communities even host movie nights in local parks. Check their websites or Facebook events near you and experience a movie under the stars. Bring your own snacks and blankets for a date night or family fun.
Apple and pumpkin picking
Look up a location to pick apples and/or pumpkins in your area. If you have kids, check out the you-pick options. Your kids will have a blast searching through the fields to find that perfect pumpkin. Some places also have other activities like hayrides and play areas, so plan ahead and schedule a full day!
Corn mazes
Whether it be haunted or kid friendly, corn mazes are pretty popular around Indiana, so it should be easy for you to search and find one that peaks your interest!
Fall festivals
You may be looking for petting zoos, craft fairs, or all the fall treats you’ve been craving since last year. Try searching your city’s website or other cities near you for what fall festivities they have planned.
And more!
These are just a few fun ideas to help you make the most of (what we think is) a season too short! But there are plenty of other things you could do. Click here for more fun ideas.
